Persistent Systems announced that they have partnered with
IL&FS Education and Technology Services to develop a series of
mobile-based learning applications on IL&FS Education's
learning platform, Exploriments.
Exploriment is a simulation-based interactive learning platform
designed for enhancing students’ conceptual understanding in
science and mathematics. As a technology partner, Persistent
Systems will be developing mobile-based applications on the
Exploriments learning model for various mobile platforms like
tablets and other handheld devices.
Dr R Venkateswaran, Sr Vice President, Head of Strategic
Business, Persistent Systems said, “Persistent has a holistic
understanding of innovations in the mobile industry and sees this
partnership as an opportunity to develop a unique application in
the mobile education space. In addition to being the mobile
technology partner, Persistent will also be working with IL&FS
Education as their global go-to-market partner for this
initiative.”
Exploriments, doesn’t intend to transfer traditional
classroom teaching to digital pedagogy or convert print materials
into a digital format. But it endeavors to create a platform that
enhances the delivery of quality education through the use of
technology by providing a highly interactive, exploratory, and
engaging experience for students and teachers. Rushikesh Bandekar,
Vice President and Head of Technology Products, IL&FS Education
said, “With Exploriments, we offer a unique pedagogy to the
mobile platform providing an easily accessible, intuitive teaching
and learning environment. Persistent Systems’ expertise in
building next generation mobile-based solutions makes it an ideal
partner to develop Exploriments for the upcoming mobile/tablet
based platforms.”
Exploriments, designed primarily for tablets such as iPads, will
also be compatible with various other devices such as handheld PCs
and netbooks. Leveraging the Android and iOS Centers of Excellence
(CoE), Persistent Systems will help build many such Exploriments
that work on multiple devices of different form factors.
