CIO KLUB, a nonprofit organization, and one of the largest networks
of CIOs in India, has extended its presence by establishing two
more chapters in Southern India.
“The journey started around three years back in Mumbai with
30 CIOs and today we have reached membership of more than 650 CIO/
IT heads from all parts of India. It is a great pride to witness
the opening of the 4th council in Bangalore, India’s IT
Capital,” said Shirish Gariba, Secretary, CIO KLUB Governing
Council, at the inauguration of the Bangalore Chapter.
N Nataraj, Secretary , Bangalore Council said,” There has
been a revolutionary change in the use of Information Technology in
Indian enterprises across all verticals moving from the traditional
EDP setup to a strategic business enabler and CIO KLUB is a great
platform for sharing knowledge.”
On 18th of March 2011, CIO KLUB formally announced the inauguration
of the Chennai Council at a well attended event by CIOs from
Chennai. On eve of the inauguration Vikas Gadre, Vice President,
CIO KLUB Governing Body said, “The challenges that we face
today have created a need for a platform to have a stronger
relationship between CIO community which in turn would benefit the
CIOs and also their organization.”
Jaganathan, Director – Technology of Ajuba International and
the Secretary, CIO KLUB Chennai Council said, ”The primary
objective is to drive the business benefit to the organizations of
the member CIOs and also help CIOs in their professional
growth.”
Anwar Bagdadi member, CIO KLUB governing body stated that,
‘We are in discussion with one of the major management
consultancy firms to draft the governance structure for the
association along with the policy and procedures for functioning of
the councils at large. This growth of the KLUB has mandated a more
professional approach in the working with high degree of
governance.”
The CIO KLUB is governed by a governing body headed by the founder
members and each council has management committees to drive the
KLUB objectives. Vilas Pujari, Joint Secretary, Governing
body said, ‘The objective of the club is to share and enhance
knowledge using collective wisdom of CIOs globally and we are
exploring the possibility to extend Councils outside India
especially middle-east and Asia Pacific region.’
CIO KLUB is commemorating the third anniversary of its inception on
29th April 2011. The anniversary program would start in the
afternoon with a leadership program and the evening event would
open with key note speaker Nanadan Nilekani, Chairman –
Unique Identification Authority of India.
At the anniversary event the 3rd Enterprise IT investment survey
report, conducted by CIO KLUB among its members in association with
E&Y will be released. This survey would be a reference document
for both CIOS and IT vendor community. The survey will unveil
CIO’s technology priorities for the year which will benefit
Organizations and CIOs at large to understand peer CIO’s
initiatives.
